01
A patrol record no client can independently check
Patrol logs are frequently completed at the end of a shift rather than during the round. A guard alone on a night shift has no real-time safety net. Statistics South Africa put the private security industry’s guarding and watchman services alone at R34.8 billion in revenue in 2024, 43% of industry revenue, which is exactly why an unverifiable patrol record is such an expensive problem.
02
Verified checkpoints and missed-checkpoint alerts
- Verified patrol checkpoints
- A guard scans an NFC tag, QR code or BLE beacon at each point on a route, proving physical presence at that location and time.
- Missed-checkpoint alerts
- The control room is notified immediately if a checkpoint is skipped or a round falls behind schedule.
03
Incident reporting and lone-worker safety
- Incident and occurrence reporting
- Guards capture occurrences, faults and observations on the device at the point and time of the event.
- Lone-worker safety
- Automatic escalation to a supervisor if a guard misses a scheduled check-in during a shift.
- Real-time visibility
- A control room or client-facing dashboard shows guard location and patrol completion as it happens.

Comms, devices and reporting on one platform
The same handheld typically also carries mission-critical push-to-talk communication, so a missed checkpoint or panic alert can move straight into a voice call with the guard.
